Recent updates from the United States Air Force (USAF) regarding the Next Generation Adaptive Propulsion (NGAP) fighter jet engines have shown a considerable jump in funding for each contractor of the program . Contracts for General Electric (GE) and Pratt & Whitney each increased to $3.5 billion – over double the original amount of just under $1 billion. This substantial reinvestment in the program is a clear signal of firm commitment to research, prototyping, and deployment of next generatioon propulsion for the USAF and likely the US Navy as well.
