In one of the latest breakthroughs of vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aviation, Sikorsky has successfully completed a test flight with its Rotor Blown Wing prototype drone. The small drone was able to take off and land vertically as well as demonstrate stable, maneuverable handling in all flight regimes while flying in airplane mode. The scaled-down prototype is constructed from composites and uses batteries to power itself.
