On January 5th, 2025, a public report revealed that two private aircraft at Cranfield Airport (EGTC), a small regional facility operated by Cranfield University west of London, nearly collided on the runway. According to reports from the BBC, the two aircraft came so close to colliding that one pilot noted that he could almost identify the color of the other pilot’s t-shirt. This demonstrated that the two aircraft came extremely close to a collision, and the impact of such an incident taking place could have been catastrophic.
