The Boeing 767 has proven to be one of most successful aircraft ever produced by
Boeing. Designed as the manufacturer’s first widebody twinjet that would complement the larger Boeing 747 in Boeing’s product portfolio, it first flew in 1981 and entered service in 1982 with United Airlines. The B767 has subsequently gone on to accumulate over 1,400 orders in the four decades since and can lay claim to being the foundation for the highly successful Boeing 777 program.
